My last day here :( We woke up early and went to Arima. We went to the market :) I got to drink coconut water. Not buy it but straight from the coconut. We fixed Nikki's sandals and that 2 rotis to eat with dinner. We got a snacks for our trip today. We went home to drop of the rotis and Nikki sent out an email. I ate a rotisserie chicken for breakfast. We picked up Andre who was running a little late, so his sister came out and told me that I would be her first customer for her private business of being a travel agent. I also got movies 12 for the price of 10 (one is a gift for Nikki's mom). The gentlemen were very nice and helpful. They were of Indian descent. Nikki and Andre took me to a Purple Dragon tournament. It was good fun and interesting to see how tournaments are organized and done here. Pretty similar, but the rules of their art is a little different in that face hits (at any age) are allowed. We left b/c there were things to get done and more places to go and the adults and black belts were going to be later in the afternoon. We went and got Ox Tail Soup which had a dhal base to it and was super spicy and yummy!!!! Nikki and I shared it :) Then we went to Paschinkashi Hindu Mandir. It was closed so I took a picture from the outside. We proceeded to Maracas Beach. En route we stopped to take pictures of the view. There was a Kiosk which had coconut ice-cream! Nikki wanted to confirm, so the ladies called the owner which stated that it has coconut milk and milk powder :( Darn. We also but some fruit en route at a Kiosk. The guy was friendly and wanted to give us his best! :) We got to the beach. Nikki and I walked up and down. Carleene was there with her sister and her sister's husband and little ones. The 8 month old and I had fun :) I threw him up in the air and caught him and he kept wanting to come back to me. We went to the facilities to use the toilet and change and it is 1 TT per person :O. Quickly changed and went to the beach. Yet again the beach, as much as I love it, love swimming, and love the water, I was quite fearful. I held onto Nikki but the waves kept hitting into my knee. Andre came and helped me and said "nothing will happen while he is there." He said we were at the point of where the waves break and that is where it is the strongest and we had to be behind it. In order to flow with the waves you breath in and it will naturally help your body lift. I injured my knee in this beach with all the initial impact and there was a moment where I had a lot of pressure on my hamstring :(. So when I got home I just elevated. Upon leaving, after 5, the facilities were closed. Yet again we filled water bottles with beach water. Andre got Bake and Shark which I called, Bacon and Shark! Nikki and I found a corner spot in the parking lot and started to change using the towels as ways to cover so no one could see. We went to eat the food. Now the shark was actually codfish. But it was yummy! We left as Andre got on his whole issue with bottled water because WASA works hard to purify water. There was a lady sitting at our table who said her water isn't good and then the started chatting briefly. Ahahaha when I went to get souvenirs, Andre needed hamstring stretches and I showed him one and at the park he was doing something else and I told him that it wouldn't help him. He stopped b/c he knew we would just argue. I got souvenirs for my two friends! I even got a discount from the guy, another Indian and very kind people. Okay so after eating we went home. I was quite tired. After dropping Andre, I was in and out of sleep. I took a nice shower to get all the sand of me. Nikki made my picture/video CDs. I wrote in my journal. Nikki said she is going to go liming with Andre. I stayed back as I was exhausted and my knee hurts. I updated my journal, updated my blog. The plan is to take some naps here and there but to pretty much stay up so I don't miss my flight. I can always sleep in the plane. I watched movies with Nikki's mom, a hindi movie, and one other! Tomorrow I fly home at 6 AM. I will miss my Randy-Mac sister and everything about Trinidad and Tobago and all the wonderful people I met. I am so thankful of all the kindness I received while here!
A few fun things:
I think one thing I don't like to much are round abouts. I find them a pointless and dangerous tool in traffic that cause more traffic and even traffic jabs.
I do like the fact that every morning we listen to music and just start the day with fun.
Andre says that I have a recessive white chromosome gene b/c of my sense of adventure.
Nikki and I were saying Ousa instead of Andre's place of work Was a and then that got us into saying Wax on and Wax off.
Andre says he is the humblest person he knows.
