So wrong of me to wait for nearly 5 months before updating everyone. It has taken me quite some time to find a travel buddy. My buddy Laura was unable to join me this summer as weddings have overtaken!! However, now, China & Tibet are cancelled, as other personal plans are en route. As these plans surface more, I will write about it. However, if I'm not going to China and Tibet because of it, you all should know that my personal plan will be exciting and it is going to be TERRIFIC!
Now, Laura and I caught up, and I figured the nickname Tani, simply didn't suit her. While she was reading me ideas of Bachelorette Party ideas, I was thinking of nicknames. So, now this wasn't multi-tasking, it was multi-thinking, hahaha. Yes yes, it is the little things that make me laugh. So, hearing her think of different activities out loud, reminded me of the Tasmanian Devil. So now, "Taz" is her nickname. I realize that Tasmanian is spelled with an "S" but we agreed the z sounds better.
Today, was a fun day.... we went to my sister's new home and had it blessed and because I was the single girl, pure, etc... I had to be the one who assisted in the blessings of the home, not that I really knew what I was doing so I said my own spiritual request for safety and well-being in the new home. We decided on dinner at an Italian Place. It was small, with what seemed like Christmas lights hanging along side of garlic. Everyone was complaining of the type of pizza served, the service, and the setting. Coming from Peace Corps, I was content with it all. It actually reminded me of the hotelis in Kenya. The town reminded me of Old Town, Alexandria, with people relaxing and enjoying the day. Even restaurants were laid back. We ate and then left. When we left everyone got excited thinking that the first garage was the one we parked in, however, Dhaval and I stated "no." We still checked to see if our cars were parked inside, only to confirm that we were right. So, then, afterwards, I lead everyone towards the other garage; the great days of using mental and visual maps came in handy! Luckily my mental maps were accurate. Upon leaving, I wanted to get ice cream, but we never saw the Wegmans as we were leaving. Driving home, my dad took the wrong exit, and traffic was backed up. My mom was too impatient to sit in traffic that never ends, and once they saw route 1 I gave them directions; we made our way home and I finally got my ice cream (the one in our freezer, non-dairy of course). And, then, immediately to updating this blog!
Until the next entry!
FYI: Next Summer, India Plans on the rise.
